Maurel & Prom’s core business is exploration. Exploration covers geological surveys, seismic acquisition and processing, geophysical interpretation and drilling. The strategic oil exploration zones were in Congo, and then Maurel & Prom diversified its portfolio across four continents. Today, the strategic oil exploration zones are in Africa and in Latin America. Operations in Tanzania, Peru and Syria have diversified the geographic coverage. Maurel & Prom’s technical teams are composed of oil industry geologists, geophysicists and engineers with proven expertise. Their experience and qualifications are crucial to the group as it intensifies its exploration efforts. Thanks to exploration successes, Maurel & Prom enjoys significant reserves and growth potentials.
Production :
The Group’s production is the result of a dynamic strategy carried out since 2000. Specifically, the sale of the Congolese assets to Eni and of the Colombian assets to Ecopetrol and first oil of the Gabonese fields have changed Maurel & Prom’s geographic profile.
The current growth of the production activity is based on putting in value the Onal field area in Gabon where the Group can put in production the new discoveries in a very short time, at a marginal cost.
The acquisition of assets in Nigeria would allow the Group to have a second base for its development.
