2025 World Environment Day

June 5th will be World Environment Day, with the theme this year being "Beat Plastic Pollution."

In addition to our daily actions aimed at reducing our environmental footprint, our subsidiaries mobilize each year on this day dedicated to the environment.

• From June 2 to 6, 2025, M&P Gabon will participate in World Environment Week by leading a vast awareness program on the fight against plastic pollution: presentations in middle and high schools, participation in training workshops organized by the Ministry of the Environment, Ecology, and Climate, donations to municipalities, and waste collection. This program is being implemented in Port-Gentil, Lambaréné, Libreville, and at the Coucal and Onal sites and neighboring villages.

 

• As part of the mangrove restoration project around Mnazi Bay, M&P Tanzania plans to plant 2,500 seedlings grown last year in the nursery. At the same time, 10,000 seeds will be grown in the nursery for planting in 2026, followed by 15,000 seeds the following year for planting in 2027. This project is being carried out with the support of the marine park authorities (IOCA) and the local communities of Mnazi Bay.

 

These initiatives illustrate our collective commitment and contribute to strengthening our environmental and social responsibility.
